With solely IDR 500 thousand in capital, a Balinese man turns into a wealthy businessman

Karungjantan, a brand that offers men’s outfits with prices ranging from 15 thousand to 150 thousand rupiah, has made its mark in the world of fashion. Founded by Edi Suandana in February 2018 in a small boarding house in Denpasar, Bali, this brand started from Edi’s association as a final student. With initial capital of IDR 500 thousand rupiah, Edi Suandana started his Karungjantan journey with only two plain t-shirts and one jeans jacket.

Now, after several years of operation, Karungjantan has grown into a brand that has eight offline branches in Bali and is available on various e-commerce platforms. “I really believe that to be able to develop and compete in this day and age, you must follow technological developments, namely social media. Therefore, Karungjantan often collaborates with local and national influencers in Bali to collaborate.” Said Edi Suandana, Owner of Karungjantan.
