The existence of bulk granulated sugar and packaged granulated sugar in a number of traditional markets in Tangerang Regency, Banten was observed to be experiencing a shortage, Saturday.
Apart from being scarce, the price of bulk and packaged granulated sugar has also increased to up to IDR 20,000 per kilogram. Not only are traders complaining, the shortage is also making it difficult for consumers to get granulated sugar.
Apart from experiencing shortages, the price of bulk granulated sugar and packaged granulated sugar has also been observed to have increased from previously only IDR 18,000 per kilogram, now reaching IDR 20,000 per kilogram.
Traders and consumers hope that the supply of bulk and packaged granulated sugar in traditional markets will return to normal. They also asked the government to stabilize the price of granulated sugar, which had risen quite high.
